Torpedo, Sweet Onion – Torpedo is and Italian Heirloom, with a unique torpedo shape and purple/red blushing, 4″-6″ long. Enjoy these onions fresh out of the garden, or let cure for storage. Onions will last a few months when cured in a cool, dark place, but they’re not long keepers. Start in the greenhouse and plant out when soil warms in the Spring. Here on the farm we love enjoying them fresh as pictured. Cut them in half, drizzle some olive oil and balsamic and put them on the grill with other summer vegetables.
