I’m currently taking a break from coordinating our farm’s CSA program.
You can find Homeward Bounty Farm produce at the Mount Shasta Farmers’ Market!
CSA stand for community supported agriculture. With this model, people in the community can become members of the farm. They become members, by buying into the farm in the spring and throughout the season these members will get a freshly harvested box of vegetables weekly. This is a way for the community to invest in their farm and farmer and an excellent way for Homeward Bounty Farm to have a guaranteed market of dedicated members. With this model, the farm and it’s members have a special bond, where both parties feel deeply supported and nourished.
The Homeward Bounty Farm CSA runs for 21 weeks, usually from the beginning mid May, and running through mid October. CSA shares can be picked up at the farm or delivered to your door. Each member receives a weekly harvest of farm abundance. When harvesting, the CSA boxes have the first preference and priority, and are always filled with diversity. CSA members are honored each year at our annual CSA long-table harvest dinner out in the farm field. It’s a beautiful event where we give thanks to our community and the season’s bounty.
