I always look forward to the time of season on the farm, when I get to braid the soft neck garlic. It’s such a wonderful, meditative exercise.
Braids this year are limited and the garlic is a bit smaller, but I put more bulbs in each braid.
We always hang one in the kitchen and it’s the garlic we start using around January, when the hard neck varieties start to go soft. We’re down to two bulbs on our garlic braid now, perfect timing for the summer garlic harvest. Essentially, having a garlic braid is the key to year-round garlic enjoyment!
